After you install, open Inbox Search from any email and allow it to read your mail when Microsoft asks. Some workplaces need IT to approve this once: guide for IT admins. Step-by-step install guide
A find is only used when AI search works. It counts when a search uses AI matching and you open one of its results. Searches that return nothing useful, searches you abandon, keyword-only searches, and answers you read in the preview are all free. Opening several results from one search counts once.
AI search pauses until 00:00 UTC. Keyword search, indexing and everything else keep working exactly as before — Inbox Search never stops being useful.
Pro starts with 7 days free. A payment method is needed to start the trial. Cancel before it ends, from Settings → Manage subscription, and nothing is charged; otherwise the plan you chose begins when the trial ends.
Keyword search and indexing run locally in your browser, so they cost nothing to provide and are not worth charging for. Semantic search is what makes Inbox Search different from Outlook’s built-in search, so it is the part a paid plan is built around.
Keyword search and indexing work with email in any language. AI search, which finds emails by meaning, uses a multilingual model trained on more than 50 languages, including German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese, and a search in one language can find an email written in another: a question typed in English can surface a reply written in German. The 7-day trial lets you check it on your own mailbox before paying.
No plan changes how your email is handled. Processing happens on your device on every plan, and email content is never sent to our servers. See the privacy policy for what is and is not stored.
Pro is sold by Polar as merchant of record, which handles billing, VAT and sales tax. Prices include VAT where it applies. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; see the terms of service for renewals, cancellation, refunds and price changes.
